Popular Education Training of Trainers for Women
WHAT:
This full-day Popular Education workshop will examine the ideas behind how adults learn and present some tools and techniques to use in practicing effective adult education. We'll be offering two levels:
INTRODUCTION TO POPULAR EDUCATION
For women who have never taught at WILD or taken Popular Education training before, this training will engage participants in both the theory and practice of learner-centered, experience-based, participatory education for action. Participants will also explore facilitation challenges.
ADVANCED TRAINING OF TRAINERS
For women who have taught at WILD or have experience with training and participated in basic Popular Education training, this training will give participants the opportunity to examine how workshops are designed, practice designing and teaching a learning task and explore facilitation skills.
WHO:
- For women who have taught workshops before and want the opportunity to engage with the challenge of practicing popular education in union or community settings
- For women who are new to teaching, but want to learn about popular education as a theory and practice of adult education.
- For English speakers
