Invisible No More: Domestic Workers Organizing in Massachusetts and Beyond

Join the UMass Boston Labor Resource Center and the Brazilian Immigrant Center on October 17th at 8:30am for a morning of presentations on the recent passage of the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights and organizing efforts by domestic workers to ensure implementation of the new law. Presentations will be followed by a group discussion of the future of collective bargaining for domestic workers, personal care attendants, and other caregivers organizing for their labor rights. Speakers will include:

  • Natalicia Tracy PhD(C), Executive Director, Brazilian Immigrant Center & Brazilian Policy Center Inc.
  • Sonia Suarez, Domestic Worker and Leader, domestic worker labor rights movement
  • Joy Lacanienta, Activist, domestic workers rights in Hawaii
Breakfast will be served at 8:30am and the program will begin at 9am.
