"Defending the Public Sector" was the topic of UMass Dartmouth Conference

Unionists from across the state came together to examine the economic and social conditions that have led to the current crisis and work together to formulate strategy for fighting back.

Wisconsin State Senator Jon Erpenbach, one of the "Wisconsin 14". The Wisconsin 14 were the 14 WI state senators who fled the state for 3 weeks last February in order to deny Governor Scott Walker the quorum he needed to pass his anti-public sector union legislation

The conference included two morning workshops, and an afternoon panel on the privatization of public k-12 education and higher education.

Participants left energized to continue the struggle to uphold the rights of public sector workers.
