UMass Dartmouth Labor Education Center to sponsor a series of cultural and educational events
Other events include a Fall River Labor History Walk on Sept. 16; a workshop on "Introduction to Organizing: How to Get More People Involved in Social Change" Sept. 17; a presentation on the work of Social Justice Photographer Lewis Hine Sept. 18; and another workshop on "Introduction to Oral History: Documenting Local Stories for Social Change" Sept. 24.
The Annual Awards Banquet will take place at the Venus de Milo restaurant in Swansea, and will cost $50 per ticket. This year the Center will present the Arnold M. Dubin award to National President of UE, Peter Knowlton. Other honorees include Stop and Shop workers of UFCW Local 328; David Fenton, IBEW International Representative and others.
