Women’s Fund Grant funds train-the-trainers on workers rights for immigrant women
The two Centers will ‘train the trainer’ for the purpose of bringing workers rights education to immigrant women in the New Bedford labor force. The program will make an important connection with the ESOL work done by the two Centers, including the Workers Education Program at the LEC. “This is a groundbreaking development for New Bedford’s immigrant community.” LEC Director Kim Wilson said. “Immigrant women are crucial to the area economy, but they are often exploited. This program will help bring justice to a very vulnerable group of workers. And working with the CEDC will be a great partnership.” she added.
